Sagittarian Laughter?

Do you laugh more than other people you know? Do you have a distinct laugh?
When you laugh, does it make the people around you want to join in?

I feel like, unfortunately, in the past few years I've stopped laughing as much. (Depression'll do that,
I guess--even after you have it under control)--but I am slowly trying to get back my laughter!

When I was a kid I was the queen of belly laughs. I remember reading in a magazine that laughter
was good for building ab muscles, and I thought, "Well damn, my ab muscles oughta be something, then!"
I mean, seriously... a lot of times I wasn't even sure *why* I was laughing, i just felt compelled to do so.
I actually remember having to teach myself to tame my laughter... there must be some weird aspect
in my chart actually---because I would burst into laughter at really inappropriate moments, like once when
my cousin was stung by a bee. ??? I did learn how to keep from laughing at moments like those, though,
    so that's good. :P

As an undergrad, my friend Jay described hearing my laughter as, "being blessed by a benevolent god."
Which is a super exaggeration, I'm sure, but I do have a distinct, robust, hearty laugh.

    How 'bout you?

And if you have any tips for how I can reclaim my former Sagittarian Sun joy, let me know. ;) In the past year,
I can only remember maybe two good hearty laughs. Sigh. I'm getting some of that joy and optimism back,
but I feel like it's coming slowly. I miss that part of me...

      waaaaaaah~~~
i can relate to this laughter thing... at work they labeled my laugh as "infectious" cuz once i'm laughing all of 'em will start laughing not cuz they heard the joke or something but purely cuz of my laugh... hahahhahaah~~ and it's also quite attention getting due to its volume and strong quality, it's so loud, man~~ sometimes i feel like mellowing down but i just can't... this is me and my laugh~~~ hahahaha~

lol. Even you *typing* about your laughter makes me smile... not quite laugh, but smile, anyway.

When I was in high school, there was a friend of mine who did really good impersonations of Bill Clinton and other people, and so I asked if he could do an impersonation of me, and he just laughed. At first I thought he was laughing at my request or something, but then I realized... that was the impersonation.

          hahahahhahaha~~~ oh i have a similar experience~~
at my previous work, there's this 'great impersonator' in our team... every time we'll have lunch or dinner together he'll do one or two of his craft and when somebody requests to impersonate me he'll go 'hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha'~~~ that's me~ hahahahhaa

For me, real belly-laughs are my favourite kind of laughter. Free, uninhibited, hearty, spontaneous belly-laughs ~ they're the best kind! And very intoxicating too : ))

My brother (who is a Libra with Mars in Sagittarius) has this kind of laughter, and if he laughs, I laugh just as hard - but not because of the joke that was just told; because of him!

I'm a Sag Sun, and I think I have that same laugh too. When I find something funny, and I'm in a situation where I feel free and uninhibited, I hold nothing back. I just laugh out loud and keep the fun going ;)

it is very sagg... true. I've said the exact same things before abt marriage, actually. :P

I have to be honest though, I couldn't watch beyond the first 30 seconds or so... it was "OhSHO" boring.

I watched the whole thing, and I agree so absolutely. Lately I have had those same thoughts about marriage: I don't believe in forever, so why stand in front of an altar and promise foreven when I know I couldn't keep that promise? No no, not for me. I'd be a hypocrite to get married. Not to say that I don't believe in love and/or commitment though, but I just don't believe our "true love" today has any place in our lives tomorrow...

For me it's also that I want to feel I have the freedom (code word!) to evolve. I don't want to be tied down to a place OR a person.

Although my Venus in Scorpio does want that supreme commitment, though... so I really feel conflicted about it all.

What would be ideal for me (though probably not likely ever to happen) is to find someone who I can have that commitment to, but who will allow me to go out, experience life away from them, and then have them as a grounding base to return to. I mean, I'd be willing to do the same... we could be grounding bases for another.

I really do desire the base support thing, though.

gabby - one should be 'chill' or relaxed before watching Osho ... yes, he speaks slowly and carefully ... but I appreciate that ...

Gabby, I completely agree. I have a Scorpio stellium, so I would accept nothing less than total commitment in a relationship either. But as Goldie Hawn once said:

"I would gladly live like a bird in a cage and be happy all of my life, as long as I knew that the door to the cage would always remain open."

I think this quote describes the Sag need for freedom to make their own choices so perfectly and completely. I.e.: Never get married, fellow Sags
